Dear Mazel Parents,
This letter is to welcome you all to the Mazel Parent Association (MPA), and offer a few words of introduction about who we are and what we do. And when I say we, I mean all of us — every parent of a current student is a member.
The Mazel Parent Association is an informal and energetic organization that serves three main functions: to help enhance the quality of the student experience at Mazel Day School, serve as a communication link for and among parents and the faculty, and to help foster a sense of community among the school’s staff, students, and families.
Mazel Parent Association is coordinated by the Parent Association Executive Committee, a core leadership group of parents who volunteer their time to help implement the vision of the Mazel Parent Association by undertaking responsibility for coordinating various events and projects.
At this time there are 8 members serving in the executive committee (please see list of members and contact information below).
The committee was created only recently in May 2009, so we are a very "young" team, but never the less very enthusiastic team of parents that are ready to bring some very exciting spirit and events to the school. If you would like to join the Executive Committee team please contact me.
All of our work relies on the energy and involvement of many, many parents. Most importantly, we volunteer our time: by hosting fun family events, school-wide spirit days, teacher appreciation day, picnics and many other fun events. There is no better way to get involved with the school and engaged in your daughter or son’s schooling, no better way to get to know faculty and other parents in our small community.
We strongly and sincerely believe that our parent body is a wealth of talent, information, and intelligence, and that each one of you has something unique to share. We are excited to get to know you and to hear your ideas!
Shortly we will be announcing a calendar of events that MPA will be organizing for the first half of the school year. We encourage each parent to volunteer for at least one event.
Consider this an open invitation to get involved. If you have any ideas or energy or spare time, feel free to contact me or any other member of the MPA executive committee any time throughout the year. I look forward to working together.
Warmly, and on behalf of the Mazel Parent Association,
Irina Rakhlis, Chair
