From Drop-off to Dismissal.... we had a G - R - E - A - T first day of school at MDS Lower and Middle School!
February is Mazel's Annual Literacy Month!! Our students immerse in a month-long celebration of Literacy that includes parent "guest readers"... visits to the local library... our very own Book Sale... a Literacy Fun-Day Sunday Book Fair... a Meet the Author... and many other fun Literacy-themed activities!!
At Mazel's preschool, we immerse in units of study that enable children to explore the world around them. Each unit is designed to be rich with hands-on experiences that build language, cognitive skills and a sense of discovery about the world around us... all while cultivating life-long lessons and values. What better way to do so than through a unit about "Our Community" ~ what is a community? how does a community work together to support and help each other? who makes up our community and how do they help us? are just some of the Big Ideas our children are exploring.
Our Middle School students have been immersed in a research project for their annual Social Studies Fair. This year's theme was "Geography" and our students explored countries around the world and the way in which geography has played a role in their development.
Latkes, Dreidels, Candles and Maccabees.... our little preschoolers welcomed Chanukah with songs and spirit. #mdskidsrock #cutenessoverload #chanukahcelebration #sharethelights
Funky rap... drumming circle... Chidibim Chidibum... spinning dreidles... shining candles... Chanukah family nights... We are a Miracle!!! Our rocking Kindergarten through Fourth Grade Lower School Division put on a great Chanukah show!!!
In honor of Chanukah, our Middle School classes put on an uplifting showcase telling the story of the Eternal Jewish Flame which shone bright throughout the generations and continues to inspire us today. In response to the words of Mark Twain...This is the story of Our People and THIS is the "secret of our immortality"!
At Mazel, our science curricula employs an inquiry based approach which enables students the opportunity to explore, discover and apply scientific principles using real-life materials and hands-on challenges.
MDS Middle Schoolers love to do Community Service Chesed at Masbia Soup Kitchen! Packing lunches, carrying boxes - you name it, they were on hand to help!!
From funny face fruit and veggie activities to crunchy salad days.... from a delicious juice bar to visiting health professionals.... from a Fit-Fun Warrior Dash to a health sleep challenge.... Health Month rocked a Mazel Day school!!!
