Letter from Irina Rakhlis, Parent
Dear Parents, Community Members and Friends:
I am very excited to be writing to you today because this letter will help bring a “new” and “improved” school experiencefor our children. And when our children are Happy, we are Happy!
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Irina Rakhlis and my daughters Jacklyn, 7, and Ariella, 4, attend Mazel Day School. Many of you may already know me and my family and heard me rave about Mazel on more than one occasion. For others, this is a beginning of a beautiful friendship. Mazel is a “home away from home” for my kids and my family. The kind of attention and care that my kids receive in Mazel can only be described as “family”.
Mazel gave us the opportunity to be part of terrific school projects that kids brought home, colorful holiday festivals, cool science experiments, exciting trips, thoughtful guidance and great parenting advice. The school guided us through experiences that were new to our family like Hebrew language and Jewish traditions and history. I know that many of you share my sentiments or will in the near future.
By now you are probably wondering (as I was) what I can do to give back to the school for all the wonderful things it has given us? There is no better time than NOW to give back! Mazel Parents Association is launching a new and exciting project called “Extreme Makeover - Mazel Edition.” Our project will give the school a new and fresh look just in time for the new school year. Our Goal is to raise $40,000 for upgraded facade, new entrance door and school sign, remodeled bathrooms, exciting colors and murals on the walls, new floors and window treatments, redesigned playroom and many more wonderful upgrades.
This project is bold and aggressive and will require everyone's support.
I take this opportunity to seek your help and participation in this special project. The project can only succeed if we ALL reach out to help. Your contribution can bring us closer to our Goal.
Let’s make it happen! Let’s do this for our children! I also encourage you to share this letter and the details of our project with your loved ones. We are all in this together when it comes to the future of our kids.
We hope you will contribute to this project by making your donation. And when the project is completed in September our kids will be entering the doors of the "new" Mazel.
You can make donations by cash, check or money order payable to Mazel Parents Association. The mailing address is 2901 - 2915 Brighton 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11235. Also donations can be dropped off in the school office. Donations are tax deductable.
