1. Kadesh
Kiddush. Recite Kiddush over a cup of wine or grape juice. Tonight we are like royalty, so lean to the left in the manner of kings and queens! |

2. Urchatz
Wash Your Hands. Wash your hands by pouring water on your right hand 3 times, then 3 times on your left hand, but don’t make a blessing!

3. Karpas
The Appetizer. Take a small piece of vegetable (parsley, onion or potato) and dip it in salt water to remember the many tears the Jews shed when they were slaves in Egypt.

4. Yachatz
Break the Matzah. Take the middle Matzah from under the Seder plate and break it in two. Watch carefully! The larger piece is called the Afikoman. It gets hidden and the person who finds it can ask for a gift!

5. Maggid
Tell the Story. Your turn! Ask the Four Questions. Then read and relive the entire story of Passover! After we finish telling the story we drink the second cup of wine. Don’t forget to lean!
What makes this night different from all other nights?
- On all nights we need not dip even once, on this night we do so twice.
- On all nights we eat Chametz or Matzah, and on this night only Matzah.
- On all nights we eat any kind of vegetables, and on this night Maror.
- On all nights we eat sitting upright or reclining, and on this night we all recline.

6. Rachtza
Wash Your Hands. Wash your hands a second time, just like you did in the beginning – only this time , remember to say the blessing over washing your hands!
Baruch Ata Ado-nai Elo-heinu Melech Haolam Asher Ki-d’shanu Be-mitzvotav Vetzivanu al Netilat Yadayim.
Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to wash our hands.

7-8. Motzi - Matzah
Blessings over Matzah. It’s time to Munch on Matzah! Recite the blessing for eating bread, and then the special Matzah blessing. Take a big bite and start crunching! Remember to lean to your left as you eat.
Blessing 1:
Baruch Ata Ado-nai Elo-heinu Melech Haolam Hamotzi Lechem Min Ha’Aretz.
Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.
Blessing 2:
Baruch Ata Ado-nai Elo-heinu Melech Haolam, Asher Ki-d’shanu Be-mitzvotav Vetzivanu al Achilat Matzah.
Blessed are You, Lord our G-d, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the eating of Matzah.

9. Maror
Bitter Herbs. Take the bitter herbs and the Romaine lettuce which reminds us of the bitter times in Egypt, dip them into the Charoset and start chewing!

10. Korech
Matzah Sandwich. Matzah sandwich! Fill two pieces of Matzah with Maror and Romaine lettuce, make a special prayer and eat it while leaning to the left.

11. Shulchan Orech
The Meal. Finally! We get to eat and enjoy a sumptuous festive meal. Remember to leave some room for the Afikoman. Bon Apetit!

12. Tzafun
Dessert. Where’s that piece of Matzah we hid all the way at the beginning of the Seder? Take out the Afikoman and start munching!

13. Berach
Grace After Meals. We thank G-d for the delicious meal, and drink the third cup of wine while leaning to the left.

14. Hallel
Praise. We fill Elijah’s cup with wine, and our own fourth cup as well. Then we open the door for Elijah the Prophet who comes to visit every Seder in the whole world! We sing songs of praise for the great miracles G-d performed for the Jewish people, and finish by drinking the final cup of wine.

15. Nirtzah
Accepted! Now that we’ve completed the Seder properly, G-d has surely accepted our prayers! We finish the evening with a heartfelt prayer, “Next Year in Jerusalem”. We Want Moshiach Now! |
