Chani Goldberg, Hebrew Language Department Chair
BIO: Chani Goldberg was born and raised in northern Israel, in the city of Nahariya, an amazing city on the beach in a large and warm family. Her mother taught at a local teachers' college and her five sisters also teach. Teaching runs in the family, as they say, "the apple did not fall far from the tree." Chani spent her high school years in the center of the country in a school with music orientation. Immediately after high school, she began studying for her degree in teaching. As part of it, she traveled to volunteer in Beijing to teach the children of the Israeli embassy there. Right after her internship in China, Chani got married and moved to New York. With an imperfect English, slowly, she and her husband started to build a new life, soon joined by her young son. Chani has been a part of Mazal Day School for 3 years now, and there is no greater satisfaction for her than seeing her students feeling connected to our country and our language.
